Quick installation guide: Improve your voice in streams, Noise Suppresion in OBS with NVIDIA RTX
The noise suppression option with NVIDIA GeForce RTX video cards is now available in OBS (natively) and in this guide we will show you how to install it. With the release of GeForce RTX 20 video cards, noise suppression using artificial intelligence inference, using Tensor Cores (RTX), was introduced. While now available for GeForce GTX video cards on a standalone basis, the RTX version has less performance penalty and better quality.
With the release of the GeForce RTX 30 series cards, NVIDIA Broadcast was released, which offers more options, but several users have been asking for the following:
-To have the option to use NVIDIA’s noise suppression directly via OBS.
Before we proceed, let’s look at the user requirements:
-NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, Quadro RTX 3000, Titan RTX or better.
-NVIDIA Driver 466.11 or better.
-OBS version 27.
2). Download and install OBS Version 27. The latest OBS 27 available is the Release Candidate 2 version (RC2). Link here.
3). Download and install NVIDIA Audio Effect Version 1.0 SDK. Link here.
4). Once installed, enabling NVIDIA noise suppression is simple. Just like the options OBS gives for noise removal, one has to go to the voice track, right click on microphone, FILTERS and add noise removal. If the other steps were done correctly, NVIDIA Noise Removal should come up.
5). We suggest before starting the stream, to make clips (record videos) to test the intensity of suppression, until you find an appropriate level for each one.
We hope this guide has been helpful to you.
